针对Google 推出的Google Pack，微软即将推出自己的软件集成包－Windows Live Essential。
Windows Live Essentials里面将包含一个Windows Live Dashboard的软件，实际上它的功能就是管理Live系列软件，可显示哪些软件已安装，哪些还没安装但可下载，让用户不必亲自访问Windows Live Ideas网站手动查找Live系列软件。
Windows Live Essentials里面会包括那些软件只能等到它出来的时候我们才能知道，但至少应该包括Windows Live Messenger及Live Mail Desktop beta，还有部分Windows Live Ideas里面的软件。
Google Pack里面已有的软件有：里面包括了Google Earth、Google Desktop、Picasa、Google Toolbar、Google Pack Screensaver、Google Talk、Google Video Player等等。
Windows Live Ideas已有的软件有Windows Live Messenger、Favorites、Expo、OneCare、Custom Domains、及Toolbar等。
